Martha Walters

Martha has been a fitness enthusiast for decades! Her love for group exercise dates way back to step aerobics! She began teaching fitness classes during college, took a hiatus from teaching while raising 4 sons, but continued to “squeeze” in her own workouts in the living room and eventually a home fitness studio during nap times and “early morning” hours. Martha has always enjoyed an active lifestyle—a life-long downhill skier and hiker, she has also enjoyed running races, scuba diving, karate, and discovered indoor cycling in 2011. After participating in spinning classes for a few years, she earned her Spin Instructor certification in 2015 and has been coaching spin classes since, subsequently becoming a SPINPower Instructor. Martha includes a variety of workout formats in her own fitness regimen. Eager to grow her knowledge and expand her class offerings, she completed her AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification in 2015, and added a variety of strength and cardio classes, including kettlebell, as well as barre. Broadening her passion from fitness to wellness, she became a certified Breath Coach in 2022 through Yoga Teachers College. Other specialty certifications include Barre AboveTM, Barre Above Pilates FocusTM, BalletoneTM, Merrithew Total BarreTM, TRX and BOSU Coach, AFAA Golden Hearts and ACE Senior Fitness Specialist. She is currently completing a coaching certification with Precision Nutrition. Martha is especially passionate about working with women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond, helping them connect deeply with their core and their breath to maximize resilience, reach and maintain the strength, power, agility, balance, mobility and flexibility that meets their personal lifestyle and allows them to participate fully in all activities important to them. Now an outdoor cycling enthusiast, having completed both metric and full century rides, Martha enjoys designing and teaching classes and workshops, engaging with clients, traveling, entertaining friends with great food and wine, and spending time with her partner Dennis, their families and especially their grandchildren!
