My journey with yoga started in 2000, when I took community yoga courses with my wife Kathi back in New Jersey. I fell in love with learning the poses and what they did to improve my body.
My passion to teach yoga started in Boise, ID when I began taking yoga classes on a daily bases at the local YMCA with two amazing teachers. Next, I learned about the YogaFit instructor program and decided I wanted to teach and share what yoga could do for beginning students. I received my YogaFit Level 1 Foundations certification back in April 2013 and began teaching at two locations.
After moving to Durango, CO back in 2016 and retiring from being a community college math instructor at the end of 2021, my desire to return to teaching yoga was ignited. Currently teaching at Pause Yoga/Pilates Studio and the Durango Rec. Center.

After teaching math for 16 years in high school and community colleges, I realized the key to math success is to build skills one level at a time like a pyramid. As a yoga instructor, I apply this same philosophy. By teaching my students the proper alignment of poses and yoga breathing techniques, they are able to build confidence on a strong foundation of basic yoga poses and breathwork, while gradually adding intermediate and advanced levels of yoga practice. Living in beautiful Durango, Colorado I enjoy hiking, biking, camping and backpacking.
